My niece got married yesterday, and as she's grown up with the Pinzgauer and it's part of the family, she asked if she could use it as the brides wedding vehicle.......I of course was thrilled and have spent the last 4 weeks washing and preparing it for it's (err sorry, "her") big day :D
There will be masses of professional photo's bandied around in the next few weeks but here are a few shots I took on my phone.

Just got back from a short weekend laning trip. 3 discos arrived just for the Sunday but Basher and I were staying out last night to do a few runs before bashing up.

Well I got a call from Basher around 9pm last night his defender had broken down in Oxford. He was travelling down from Northampton so he had come a good way before it broke down. He got recovered home and drove down this morning to spend the day with me (his younger brother)

Steve on "My New Pinzgauer Project"

After spending some time refurbishing my current late P90 I decided that I wanted another Pinzgauer project. I'm not a fan of the 718s I just love the 4x4 models. Any vehicle I have must have a hard top fitted. I just find that they are so much better. Quieter and improved security.
So when a friend wanted to sell his P93 on a whim, I decided to buy it as I knew it wanted some attention and It was time for another challenge.

So I bought his P93 which we had to jump start at his home recently one Saturday morning.
I got the vehicle home and had a good look over her and quickly realised it wanted a lot more work on it than at first glance.

My first job was getting it started, so the starter system was my first job. The vehicle had a split charge system fitted to it with 4 oddesy batteries fitted. I charged them all up on a trickle charger over a couple of days but they were all dead so first thing was a pair of new batteries.
I then spent a couple of days going through all the wires feeding the 4 batteries. I took the split charging system out which was partially disconnected anyway. I then found that 2 of the systems fitted were permanently live even after switching off the battery disconnect lever. No wonder the batteries were shot!

I stripped out a lot of the wires, lives and earths from the batteries and did away with the 2nd set of batteries. I wired most of the earths straight to the body and ran other lives from the extra fuse boxes that had been fitted. Who ever did the wiring did quite a good job but as usual every one has their own way of doing things.

Few photos of the P93

FOR SALE 716 P93 HARD TOP

This is an ex MOD 716 which I have the complete military history for.

It was kept in undercover storage for quite a while by the MOD with no use. It was modified by Automotive Technique who were the Pinzgauer UK importers. It was one of 6 Pinzgauer's that were converted to hard top for the military for a CBRN (Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence) Role.
Four of these vehicles were decommissioned so I have been told by ATL guys with the hard tops being removed. Which leaves only 2 of these rare vehicles. This is one and the other one is in Africa.

This also included an upgrade to both the front and rear suspension.

Also these have a specially designed for the MOD a heavy duty roof rack which can be removed.

This vehicle is offered with a Superwinch, 6 Spotlights, Synthetic winch rope, Mantec Bridging ladders fitted to the side along with heavy duty mounting brackets. This vehicle is also fitted with the Rare 7in wheel rims with new Micky Thompson 315/75/16 Extreme Mud Tyres.

It is fitted with 2 rear jerry can holders along with jerry cans, 2 New Batteries, Eberspacher 24volt heater unit.

Has a modified front end roll bar along with both front and rear light grills, and twin rear work lamps.

New timing and injector pump belts have recently been fitted along with new water pump.

The vehicle will be painted in the Dark Earth colour both inside and out.

The price is £25,000 for what is a are hard top model intercooler Pinzgauer and will be ready for delivery around 1st Quarter of 2016.

Unfortunatly my Pinz has to be left outside to the elements so I wanted to get a cover for her. Looking around I wanted something that was breathable. So I hit the internet to see what I could get that was not too expensive but would do the job.

I found and purchased a motor home cover that was a little too large and got my wife to adapt it using her sewing skills (and her sewing machine)

The photos show it fitted using only 1 of the 3 straps that it comes with. I will use the other 2 when the winter weather sets in. It has 3 straps fitted across the rear along with the 2 that are showing on the sides at the front.[attachment=1090,1095] [attachment=1090,1096]

I was over Salisbury Plain this lunchtime and this came along so thought that you might like to see the British Armys New Weapon Systems.

With defence cuts here in the UK it seems that to save fuel the MOD have decided to push one tank around with another one, along with incorperatig a smoke screen system hopefully to hide them both from the enemy.

I think the government would be better off to stop wasting our money on overseas aid and increase our Armed Forces budget.

Gday,
I've been looking around for a while checking out all the nice diesel pinzgauers you guys have in your part of the world, sadly there aren't very many over here...not yet anyway. Hopefully one day I'll be lucky enough to own one but for now I'm very happy with my air cooled 712k.

That's it I just wanted to say hi from down under. Enjoy a couple of pics of my pinz,it's still got the previous owners paint scheme on it I will get around to painting it hopefully soon.
